G2: Marmong Point to Speers Point and return
10th November 2024
By Rosanne
Ten of us set out for this lovely walk to Speers Point via Booragul. It was a cool overcast day which made walking pleasant. Speers Point has been developed into a beautiful parkland with upgraded facilities and lots of green spaces. There were many school groups enjoying various activities and lots of pre-schoolers in the playground. We ventured past the newly built wharf through an avenue of Norfolk Pines to the Amateur Sailing Club to look as far south as you can see from the highest north part of the lake before making our return. The sun by then had emerged from the clouds to make it quite humid and we were glad of shady spots when we could find them. We all returned to enjoy lunch and cake at Marmong Point under the shade of a huge tree.
Thanks to everyone who came and made it an enjoyable day.
