G3 Newcastle Coastal Walk
6th November 2024
By Rosanne
This walk covered part of Bathers Way from Bar Beach, ANZAC Memorial path, Bogey Hole, Newcastle Baths to Nobbys Head and return via the city through community gardens at the old Newcastle train station, Watt St, Fletcher monument and King Edward gardens.
Seven of us enjoyed beautiful weather, scenic coastal views with dolphins, one whale, surfers, swimmers, one dredger and a lot of historic buildings and houses with ornate exterior fancy work. The walk was 11 kms, 103m altitude gain, classed as medium effort according to my smart watch and enough climbs to keep the heart rate high.
Thanks to everyone who came to make it a fun day.
